Okay, here's the deal. Escort Radar and Beltronics (Same company) have this "Strictly enforced" IUMRPP policy. But why aren't they enforcing it? I have literally handed them dealers on a silver platter but these guys like dougtheaterman and harleypartsandmore8, as well as audio_prophets continue to sell on ebay without getting busted. Let's look at why this may be:
1. The economy is so bad that they know even an ebay sale is getting their product out there and that's better than not getting it out there.
2. When an unauthorized ebayer sells the product and the customer calls in for warranty work, Escort and Bel can charge them $80 to put a serial number on it. Yeah - seriously!
3. They are too busy with the debacle from inet distributors and Eagle Distributing and have no time to look into it.
Hey - I don't know what the deal is but I want to know. You should want to know, as well. So go to their website, get their phone number and call them up. You deserve to know why they don't want to enforce the policies they designed to protect you. So who's really protecting you? ME!

Some New Busting and Some Updates
I feel I have provided enough info to bust the first two guys (dougtheaterman/bestpricegadgets/Endless Advantage and harleypartsandmore8 who used to be 12v-wizard and is really Mark from Crow's Custom Cycles in Michigan). I also wonder how Endless Advantage is on this list of unauthorized dealers yet they are also on this list of authorized dealers. They already get busted for removing serial numbers from Escort Detectors a few months ago so how then can they still get Bel Pro? It's the same company.
The guy on ebay that was 12v-wizard changed his name to harleypartsandmore8. This is Mark from Crow's Custom Cycles in Michigan. He's quite obvious now. No Hunches.
I have also obtained telphone numbers to the guys who sell on ebay as audio_prophets. The number I obtained is 860-752-0677 which is a cell phone. My Information shows this phone registered to a BERNARD L. KLEIN.
The person selling on ebay as lucylou1429 has the phone number 702-612-1582 and that phone is linked to John Lafon. Here is the address: 11769 VIA VERA CRUZ CT LAS VEGAS, NV 89138.
If I can get this info then why can't Bel and Escort? And if they can, why don't they stop them?

How to Get a Bel or Escort Radar Detector from an Authorized Dealer Below Authorized Price
Here's what happens: You go online looking for a high quality Beltronics or Escort Radar Detector and find a wide range of prices. The Authorized Dealers (the legitimate guys) have their units listed at full price while the Ebayers and Unauthorized Dealers are turning these out at prices that are sometimes below dealer cost (???). There's a reason that the Authorized guys are listed at those prices - they have to!! Why? Because Bel and Escort have an IUMRPP program that states that if anyone is caught listing below the retail price that they will no longer be an authorized dealer.
But here's the catch. Authorized dealers CAN and WILL sell below retail, giving you a better deal and you can still have the full warranty and serial numbers. How will they do it? Call them. That's right - they cannot advertise a lower price online but they can sell at whatever price they want! But don't haggle them too bad. If you get a good deal take it - so what if it's a little more than the unauthorized punks - it's legit!
By the way, I was on Ebay today and noticed that there are a couple of Authorized Dealers on there. You may be able to throw an offer their way through ebay and see if they bite. It can't hurt to try. If you get a good deal let me know and I will let people know where you got it.
In the meantime...I gotta get back to busting the Bad Radar Guys! I wonder if Bel and Escort are ever going to do anything about it.

Who Are The Ebay Guys?
Some people have bought Bel Pro and Escort Radar detectors on ebay from unauthorized dealers and are stuck. You may be one of them.
What Happens?
Consumers go to ebay and see a great deal on a Bel Pro or Escort Radar Detector. Although the price is ridiculously low and they know the dealer is unauthorized, they see that the seller has good feedback and includes their own warranty - so they take the bait. Then a few months later when they have an issue, the seller charges them a replacement fee (up to $30) and then reportedly sends them back the same unit saying it wasn't defective.
One company, Inet Distributors, who was actually run by Midwest Inventory Distribution, was busted last year for selling Beltronics on Ebay and removing the serial numbers. Now, anyone who bought those from Inet distributors cannot get a replacement unit because Inet can no longer get them. Click here for details.
So I am tracking down these Ebayers who are selling these and getting their real information so consumers can contact them and voice their complaints about the real companies to Beltronics and Escort Radar.
The first Ebayer is Dougtheaterman - also now using the name bestpricegadgets. Apparently this company was already busted last year by the Escort Distributor for peeling serial numbers off the units and can no longer obtain Escort Radar detectors. But it's interesting that they can get Beltronics units. How is that? The Bel Distributor, Innovative Professional Sales, is right around the corner from them and sells them many units. In fact, the company is listed on the Beltronics authorized dealer list. But here's another interesting thing: This company has no retail store and no website to sell radar detectors but they sell allot of them. Their main business is websites and phone service. So how do they sell so many? Oh yeah - they sell below retail on Ebay. Who is Dougtheaterman? Try The Endless Advantage in Aurora, CO. They will deny it because they don't want Beltronics to pull the product from them for selling below retail on Ebay, but they were already busted by the Escort Radar side of Beltronics. For more details on Dougtheaterman and bestpricegadgets, click here.
The second Ebayer is harleypartsandmore8, who used to be 12v-wizard. All I can tell you is that this guy's name is Mark and he runs Crow's Custom Cycles in Battle Creek Michigan. He is also guilty of serial number removal.
I am currently working on a couple of the other Ebay dealers and have phone numbers. I just have to get a little further in the verification process before I post anything. If you need info on a specific dealer, please leave a comment to this post and I will try to help you out.
